We have committed where possible to paying our taxes locally and ensuring our suppliers do the same as this helps to improve local communities. We want Bahia to have good hospitals, roads and education and understand the role we can play to help achieve this goal.

As part of the Bahia community we are also engaged in the establishment of a nature reserve for future generations so that when we stop mining we will leave the environment in a better state than when we found it. We are training local people, improving the skills base and where possible working to improve the community.
